On the subject of kids

16 Sep

Stephen Fry or rather his fictional character ‘Professor Trifusis’ from the book Paperweight, made the following brilliant observation:

‘The life of the passenger is not pleasant. Children are easily bored because, in the wider sense, they are never ‘at the wheel’.

That quote alone can answer so many questions for parents and their kids – and be responsible for improving the co-communication enormously. Giving kids an opportunity to be ‘at the wheel’ every now and again will provide for a liberating team building experience.

Brilliant, brilliant book, witty, sarcastic, spot on and about many extremely useful things.
